Install

Pick the deployment layout that matches your Zimbra installation, then follow the steps in order. Zimbra is configured last on each host, once the milter there is running.

Single server

One Zimbra server with its MTA and LDAP.

1. Java - install Java 21.
2. Single server - unpack the package to /opt/msh-zr, start the web admin, node and milter services and log in.
3. Zimbra configuration - register the milter in the Zimbra MTA with zmprov.

Multiple servers

Two or more Zimbra MTA servers, with the web admin on a server of its own.

1. On the web admin server:
   1. Java - install Java 21.
   2. Web admin server - unpack the package, start only the web admin service and log in.
2. On every MTA server:
   1. Java - install Java 21.
   2. MTA servers - unpack the package, start only the node and milter services, and add the server on the Servers page of the web admin.
   3. Zimbra configuration - register the milter in the Zimbra MTA of that server.
