Duplicates

The duplicates protector prevents adding the same disclaimer multiple times to an email - for example when a message travels back and forth in a conversation.

The Duplicates tab of a disclaimer rule, with the Enable duplicates protector checkbox and the Sensitivity field

Enable duplicates protector turns the check on for this rule.

Sensitivity (3-10) controls how strictly an existing disclaimer is matched. Higher sensitivity matches the disclaimer more strictly. Lower the value when the application is inserting the same disclaimer too often.

The comparison is made against the template as the message holds it: words that hold a variable such as {company} are left out, because the message carries the resolved value, and entities such as © match the character that was sent. A reply that quotes the disclaimer is therefore recognised even when the template starts with a variable.
